A sad message from DJ Nolita:
Dearest dancing queers and allies,
I lament to inform you that Rumpspankers has gotten their liquor license revoked by the OLCC as of today and therefore Fruitcake will be postponed until further notice. We love and honor your support! Needless to say, we’ll be back soon!
Stay tuned, Fruitcake Xxo
DJ Girlfriends (myself) will be spinning for the christening of Invasion’s SHOWER! Join us with porn superstars AND hubbies THE JERICS! 5 Bones, lots of boners.
I’m obsessed with Lady Gaga, and how can you not be? Her new video for Bad Romance is set in a blindingly white bathhouse. Who knew so weird could be so hot.
Get into some tight spaces at SPelUNK Friday the 13th
As usual there is no lack of queer parties for the weekend and this Friday the 13th, so soon after Halloween, should certainly be auspicious. My recommendations are SPelUNK at Red Cap (1035 SW Stark) and Fruitcake at Rumpspankers (700 NE Dekum).

Just a little prurient and totally unnecessary voyeuristic video clip from Gossip Girl wherein Hilary Duff guest stars and takes part in a threesome. It’s blonde on brunette lady make out action for your Tuesday commute home.

Billing itself as the hippest new joint, which seems appropriate for its Pearl location, 10% of all proceeds go back to the Sisters.

Largely a fun and promotional show celebrating Ellen’s appearance alongside the daytime star on the cover of O: The Oprah Magazine, the duo were a pleasure to watch, and a happy foray into gay comedic mainstream.

Every Women’s Studies 101 class had to read that Laura Mulvey article on the cinematic “male gaze” which described voyeurism and objectification of a female by a heterosexual male viewer. And then Cindy Sherman turned the theory of the gaze on its ear with her “Untitled Film Stills” and other eclectic self-portraiture.
Now Queer Gaze opening Thursday at Fontanelle Gallery (205 SW Pine) aims to explore the gaze from woman to woman or queer to queer, as well as the way that many photographers use their own visage or that of their friends to subvert traditional expectations of portraiture.
