 Did collapsing homos cause the PDXboom? Was the loud boom heard around 8 PM last night caused by Portland area gays and lesbians simultaneously collapsing after a long weekend of partying? Or is it because we’re such sinners or something? (There was a lot of sinning going on at BP. Apparently it was fun to watch, somehow I missed it. I was too busy dancing)

Whatever your opinion, Buck Angel, the famous “Man with a Pussy”, and arguably the world’s biggest FTM porn star, is working on a new project and will host a Portland casting call. Buck is no stranger to breaking new ground, and after recently being turned into a statue (link NSFW), Buck is working on creating a non-porn documentary exploring the sexuality of trans men.

Happy St. Patricks Day Portland! What are you doing tonight?
 He has a celtic tattoo...proof enough he MUST be Irish Gays and dykes seem to have a love hate relationship with St. Patrick’s Day…we love the drinking, the dancing, the getting dressed in funny clothes and the sexy Irish accents, but not so much the catholic church and the being banned from parades. But for once, I’m not gonna go on about politics – I’m gonna get off my soapbox and give you some eye candy instead!

 American Apparel has either launched a clothing line for mtf trans people or someone is playing a joke Is it really love or just a game? American Apparel has apparently launched a new line of clothing for MTF trans people called Trans Am, or someone is making a very bad and very elaborate joke. There is a lot of conflicting news fluttering around the web about this at the moment, and a lot of it is commentary from other blogs (which isn’t necessarily reliable, critical or very trans-friendly) but so far not much from AA itself. I checked out AA’s website but no information is listed to either confirm or deny that this is an official AA campaign.

 Come on Portland dancing queens! Gay, lesbian, queer dance-fans, listen up! Katrina O’Brien, local Portland dancer and choreographer is looking for 5+ fun loving queers to join a low-key, non-professional lineup of dancers for a one off performance at the last ever (sad!!) Homomentum next month.
No particular skillset needed – you don’t have to be a “dancer” to join, but you do get to work with some talented (Katrina) and funny people (me, for example) who are all very good looking. Super!

 Norrie is officially acknowledged as "zie", photo from the SMH Coo-eee mate! I love Australians and I love Australia. A huge, far away country, with a small population (18 million) yet some of the most diverse, welcoming and radical queer communities I have ever been involved in.
The year I spent there was the most liberating of my life and so it is no surprise to me that Australia has just now become the first country in the world with a state that recognizes that people may exists outside of a binary gender system. Even more reason to true blue love you, aussies! <3

 Roy Ashburn comes out, but now what? Complete and utter tosser California state Senator Roy Washburn has now officially come out, several gay news websites along with mainstream media report.
Roy Ashburn, a republican politician and classic victim of internalized homophobia that ends up fucking things up for everyone else, spent the last several years voting against Harvey Milk day, anti-gay bullying initiatives, gay marriage, and apparently even organized an anti gay-marriage rally. Oh and he’s from California, that lovely prop-8 state.
A few days ago he was booked by the cops after driving around drunk in his state-issued SUV, coming from a gay bar called Faces and with a gay guy in the passenger seat. Smart move.
Now what? I don’t think gays and lesbians will ever accept Ashburn into the fold. Maybe the Log Cabin’s want him?

Click for full screenshot Shoe giant and Portland/Beaverton local ADIDAS, who currently hold a market share of 33% for athletic shoes, have banned gay terminology from their mi ADIDAS shoe customization service that allows shoe junkies such Alley Hector and myself to customize their latest kicks.
Words like “gay”, “lesbian”, “faggot” and “dyke” are banned – along with “homo”, and ethnic slurs.
While playing around with the mi ADIDAS website today, I noticed it’s embroidery feature that allows users to add custom text to different parts of the shoe. Thinking that my buddy Supergay has been talking about getting some new boots, I tried entering the term “Supergay” – only to be informed that “profanity” had been detected and my embroidery was not allowed.

 Delease Carter is suing the PPB for harassment, unlawful arrest and battery. Photo from the Oregonian Delease Carter, a 21 year old student who lives in Northeast Portland and studies at Portland Community College Cascade (my old stomping ground!) is suing the city of Portland for battery and unlawful arrest.
Delease claims Portland Police Bureau officers (we don’t know which) touched breasts and genitals, slammed Delease’s head into the pavement and insulted her, all because she was walking home with friends in the middle of the street.
