Homomentum's Gaycademy Awards

We can be disappointed by the real Academy Awards but Portland is great at making shunning the mainstream in favor of our own winners. Homomentum‘s Gaycademy Awards will be just such a show.

We have all been enthralled by the last five boldly themed shows and Saturday should be no different with a double dose of surprise out of town guests Jukie Sunshine and Alysia Angel as well as […]

A weekend of Dirty Queers, Trans Revolution and Homomentum

Trans Revolution dance party returns to Crush tomorrow

Just because you are trying to stick to your New Year’s resolution of not drinking, or at least drinking less, doesn’t mean your social calendar should suffer. We may be experiencing the post-holiday doldrums of grey and rainy January but there is still plenty of queer excitement left in the humid air.

This weekend sees at least 3 big events, the 3rd anniversary of the popular smut fest Dirty Queer, the return of the genderiffic Trans Revolution dance party and the continuation of the popular Homomentum performance cabaret.

Photos and recap from Homomentum’s Snowpocalypse

tsa

Airport security will never be the same

The holiday season brought us a special Homomentum performance featuring the cold and snappy celebration of all things queer and seasonal. And you can catch just a glimpse of the white winter wonder with our Snowpocalypse photo gallery.

Performances included a very special TSA burlesque from KT Kusmal and Venus Envy, a final performance from drag queen provocateur Champagne, and a rendition of the Tchaikovsky’s Sugar Plum Fairy dance from Catitude.

The penultimate Homomentum takes stage this Saturday with ‘Snowpocalypse!’

edited ice queens webAs the first decade of the millenium draws to a close, so too does Pants Off Productions‘ performance trilogy Homomentum. The December installment of queer variety awesomeness celebrates the cold season with with a frosty Snowpocalypse! theme this Saturday night, 8pm at the E Room (3701 SE Division).

In memorium of last year’s December arctic blast the dancing queers are here to show off their ice princess steps with Snow Queen MC her/himself Max Voltage. But you won’t be cold for long when the heat of burlesque performers Pigeon Von Tramp and Portland’s burlesque diva Sahara Dunes steam up the frosty windows.

Homomentum reaches stage 2 this Saturday with Timewarp Talent show

Homomentum's Timewarp Talent show this Saturday

Homomentum's Timewarp Talent show this Saturday

Last month’s inaugural Homomentum installment was  a freaky success and this sophomore expedition into our past this Saturday should be just as enjoyable. I can’t wait to see some mall hair, and stiff high bangs when the folks from Pants Off Productions bring on the Timewarp Talent Show.

This month’s performance pleasures include burlesque from Jodi Bon Jodi and Venus Envy, hip hop dance from Under the Radar, and the dragtastic spectacle that is Feyonce.

Zombies and bears and dancing…oh my!

BearPortland

Bearracuda returns to Portland Saturday

The beginnings of autumn may have put a slight lull into Portland’s queer nightlife as we all toyed with the idea of staying in, cuddling our snuggies, but I assure you this was a temporary lapse in judgment. We are still two weeks out from Halloween and already the weekend is packed with dress up dance parties.

Tonight’s monthly lady party, Crave, at Crush (1400 SE Morrison) sports a hot zombie theme with go go dancers, fog and strobe lights. Visceral Visuals will be on site projecting horror video imagery on the walls and the Molotov Dolls, Portland’s newest burlesque troupe, will have a sexy scary Halloween themed debut. DJs Mani & Monika.Mhz (top 40s, electro, house, hip hop) on the decks.

The Halloween season is upon us, and what better way to to kick off your ghoulish gayness than with a themed cabaret. This Saturday sees the first installment of Pants Off Production’s Homomentum talent shows at the E Room (3701 SE Division) at 8pm.

Crowd favorites Cattitude, Beefcake Burlesque, Untrained, I, and Pidgeon Von Tramp of the Von Foxies will all be a part of the debut performance. Seeing what they do with a sexy/gross 1920s Halloween theme will be creepily mesmerizing.

Call out to performers for new queer talent show ‘Homomentum’

homomentumPants-Off Productions is launching our next project: Homomentum: a monthly queer cabaret. The show is a bastard offspring of Kick/Ball/Change and Homos Got Talent, and we would love to encourage a diversity of performers, with a focus in dance, burlesque & performance art, to be a part of this gay new venture! Homomentum will take over the E-room (3701 SE Division) every 2nd Saturday of the month starting Oct. 10th. Each month will have a different theme, which we hope will inspire creativity! Below are the themes and a little explanation of what we have in mind (but we want to empower performers to put their own spin on it.)

Homo’s Got Talent

homo-talentWe all know Oregon queers have got it going on, but we also have a sense of humor. So this Saturday will see us putting our hip swaying to the test with a spoof of reality television dance shows.

Homo’s Got Talent, perfectly situated in the E Room‘s dark tomb (3701 SE Division), gives local performers a chance to compete to win prizes from local businesses as well as the prestigious title of “Portland’s Top Homo Dancer.” It will be hosted by Pant’s Off Productions‘ flashy gender bender Max Voltage who has promised that the evening will be,
