Sam Adams likes basil and stays mayor.
Portland Mayor Sam Adams has been “in the wars”, as my Mum would say. A little affair with Beau Breedlove turned into a media snowball resulting in two recall attempts and a quasi-political-deadlock for Adams. A few years later, we’re still debating the ins and outs of, ah, the bloom of youth.
The bespectacled politico has been trying hard to […]
 Just a short while ago
We’ve been a little thin on the ground re: coverage on DADT, mostly because so many political blogs out there do a better job than we ever could. But this is just in and worth sharing: GetEQUAL’s Dan Choi and five others have handcuffed themselves to the White House gates (Dan Choi’s second time!).
According to twitter feeds (#dadt) they are currently […]
2 hot guys in red dresses courtesy Marty Davis / Just Out
We here at qPDX were not able to attend the season’s reddest fundraiser of the year, but tons of pictures were taken of 2010’s RedRum themed Red Dress. Just Out’s Marty Davis has a Red Dress Gallery 1 and 2. Local gossip blogger Byron Beck also has almost 200 images of the rouge frocks. And […]

Stephen Cassell with Mayor Sam Adams. Photo by Wayne Bund
This weekend marked not only another year on earth for local marketing guru Stephen Cassell but also one of the who’s who parties of the LGBTQ community. Yours truly was there, Mayor Sam Adams was there, and a whole host of other party-goers including fellow blogger Byron Beck, Fat Fancy‘s Carlee Smith, Marty Davis, Lisa Schroeder, Roey […]

Don’t miss your chance to voice your concerns about issues affecting the local LGBTQ community when Mayor Sam Adams takes the podium tonight at the Q Center (4115 N Mississippi) for a Queer Town Hall meeting.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community and friends are invited to participate in a Portland Plan town hall event on April 12, 2010. Mayor Sam Adams will lead the discussion, which is co-facilitated by Jeana Frazzini of Basic Rights Oregon, Kendall Clawson of the Q Center, Michael Kaplan of Cascade AIDS Project, and representatives from the Sexual Minorities Youth Resource Center (SMYRC).

The cast of 'The Real L Word'
In this week that ends both the resurrection as well the the famed Dinah Shore weekend gays and lesbians are tired and news is thin. Even I stayed in on Saturday night, much to my housemate’s amazement. So instead of a weekend recap let’s greet Monday with two videos that have been making their way around the web.
Firstly, let’s take a look at the trailer for Ilene Chaiken‘s new series The Real L Word. By all accounts it looks as vapid as the fictional series.

Ricky Martin…We all knew, but now we know for sure!
Ricky Martin has just confirmed a decade or so of rumours that he is, in fact, actually, really really gay, or as he states on his website: “proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man”
I wonder where he will work with his public image after this, considering a lot of his work is based […]
Did collapsing homos cause the PDXboom?
Was the loud boom heard around 8 PM last night caused by Portland area gays and lesbians simultaneously collapsing after a long weekend of partying? Or is it because we’re such sinners or something? (There was a lot of sinning going on at BP. Apparently it was fun to watch, somehow I missed it. I was too busy dancing)
I’m not sure, but if you heard the boom, (I did down at Reed College, it was loud, and stuff rattled), but we have a handy-dandy PDX Boom map link where you can add your boomspot. (look, i’m creating new lingo)
Anyway, the weekend…
