Homomentum presents Myths & Legends – That gayest of vaudeville drag revivals (I think that was redundant but, really, it’s that gay) returns fora 3rd year running to give you some of the weirdest, wildest, and hottest dance and performance art in queer Portland (yeah, pretty gay). Opening month will feature epic tales and fantastic journeys re-imagined through drag and debacuherous storytelling. And who better to tell this story than one of the featured performers, Gillicorn Blessing (did you know that a group of unicorns is called a blessing?), who I hear will also be debuting a new member.

Every week (or so…) we introduce you to a local LGBTQ party DJ and ask them about their experiences in the scene and feature an audio mix they’ve made. If you’re interested in being featured contact alley@qpdx.com. […]
A future where celebrities won’t make headlines just for acknowledging their sexuality may not be far off, but for now we still love to gossip, surmise, and celebrate when a famous person finally comes out of the closet. […]
You may not be able to watch season 2 of Portlandia on the boob tube until tomorrow night, but you can skip ahead and catch episode 2 right now online. Hulu is only offering it one more day but it may stay up on the IFC website a bit longer. So I’ve included that version below.
And I’m not exactly sure why they episode 2 was chosen instead of episode 1, except that perhaps they are hoping that Battlestar fans will become as obsessive about them as they are about Ron Moore. It’s not a bad bet. I’m certainly excited to watch this episode, which also guest stars Jeff Goldblum and Eddie Vedder.
And hey, while you’re at it why don’t you check out a behind the scenes photo gallery shot by Carrie Brownstein.

Sam Adams with 'Portlandia' director Jonathan Krisel and Carrie Brownstein at last year's season 1 premiere
In another edition of gays thanking gays, all those gays at City Hall have helped created a video of Portland Mayor Sam Adams taking a moment to thank Portlandia for creating jobs and boosting tourism by mocking us. Don’t worry, this proves we’re in on the joke.

It’s that time of year again folks where we all celebrate fun, friendship, quirky intersecting life movies and the joys of trying to get a cab in Portland after midnight.

The Cafeteria – The Cafeteria is back after a Thanksgiving hiatus that all had us wondering if LunchLady really would return from Lala land for one of the best neighborhood parties in P-Town. So start your New Year’s weekend off right in faux high school style.

John Cameron Mitchell holds a copy of Just Out featuring him. Just one of many memorable JO covers over the years
In a sudden move today Just Out, Portland’s first LGBT publication, announced it will cease publication with the already released 12/9 issue. Despite that issue talking about new delivery methods in 2012 and not indicating an imminent shut down, JO has posted on their website as well as posting this more thorough statement on their Facebook page:
It is with great sadness that I have to announce today that Just Out newspaper, having put up a helluva fight against this dammed “Great Recession”, will be unable to continue publishing. Our 12/9 issue was/is our last publication. Thank you for being our “Friends” and for reading Just Out, these past 29 years.

Merry Christmas everybody. Here’s a little video clip from the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus performing a very Lady Gaga Christmas carol from their recent show “Joy to the (Modern) World.” Hope it helps make your Yuletide gay.
This week Lyska and Alley invite a guest to the studio, Shannon Wiberg, aka DJ Action Slacks. We laugh a lot. […]
