Athens Boys Choir in review

Plagued by technical difficulties, Katastrophe inexplicably MIA, and no EZ Heeb video screening, the Athens Boys Choir show was a bit of a letdown. But, although Red Bull may not have been in the best interest of trans homo-hop star Katz, a good time was had by all nevertheless.

The tiny venue of Dunes is dark an intimate and the gaggle of baby dykes and sweaty boys made for a great mix.

Burlesquire’s first full-length show in review

The men of Burlesquire are very cute. They are also very talented. The opening number of their first full-length performance, Mannequin, was a 5 piece bit of choreography that was very much Backstreet Boys meets La la Cage aux Folles. That, along with a very typical comedienne drag queen emcee, Miss Genesis Wild, created a first impression that teetered on the edge of trite. Luckily the show did not linger there long.

Aside from the fact that Red Cap might not be a terribly safe place to leave an open bar tab it’s a solid venue with just the right amount of indoor and outdoor seating, dancing and standing looking butch and cool watching the dance floor areas. Once you ad lube wrestling, you really can’t go wrong.
