Queer acrobatics from the Collective-of-Geniuses
Events, gatherings and celebrations are already underway for Trans Empowerment Week leading up to this Saturday’s Trangender Day of Remembrance. Today at 6pm on KBOO’s Outloud (90.7FM) Tobi Hill-Meyer and Smitty Buckler will be talking with Sasha about TDR, a day dedicated to day primarily memorializes those lost to hate crimes, it also serves as a forum for transgender communities and allies to raise awareness around the threat of violence faced by gender variant people and the persistence of prejudice felt by the transgender community, trans justice and intersecting oppressions and the connections between violence and the mainstream adult film industry.

Sword and Fern's Mt. Saint Helen's Necklace and Same Dream Necklace
Um, so gee, we’re late this week. I hope that doesn’t mean you missed the 2nd installment of the new queer night Cafeteria at my local Vendetta last night. I sure didn’t. The evening will include brand a new clown performance by the CoG Acrobatics; Aerial by Jack StockLynn, Nikita, and Charity McKee; burlesque by Sahara Dunes, as well as performances by Val the Variety Act and many more.

It’s getting busy, folks. I know this by the fact that I am expected at 5 different events this Friday! Two are private events, but Pride is definitely heating up. We here at QPDX.com are going to try and cover as much as we can…so before you say “Hey! You didn’t mention/cover/go to/take photos of XYZ” remember there is only two of us (Adina is sadly out of town…).
