Those boys who roared out the same 3 chord power punk with just a little more flair than their straight counterparts rocked my teenage 90s world, and they were called Pansy Division. These first and most famous gay boy punk rockers exploded queercore culture into all kinds of indie crowds. They gave me hope for a unified punk underground movement.

DubleSnap! brings the gay 90s to Holocene

DoubleSnap! Two great Holocene nights have combined forces for one night only. This Saturday will see the emergence of DoubleSnap!, a delicious intermingling of the girl power party Doubledown with the funky fresh “I love the 90s” style of Snap!

New video for ‘So Human’ from Lady Sovereign

Leave it to a Brit rapper with outlandish fashion sense to successfully break down the human condition. And the multiple personalities as displayed on magazine covers can offer a great start to a philosophical discussion as well.

One more thing. The therapist in the video is hot. Do you need any more reason to love this vid?

Getting down at Portsmouth Pizza

We're dealing with a family dining establishment here...it's gonna take some timeIt’s on a Wednesday and it is way the hell out there. These aspects of a new queer dance night that popped up in North Portland lead me to think it might not rise to the ranks of a truly popular queer destination. But then again, 4 or 5 years ago a little night called Booty opened up all the way up in what was then the middle of nowhere, in a tiny bar called Porky’s and it became a night of queer Portland legend.

Rachel Maddow insults Jimmy Fallon’s sissy cocktail

Everyone’s favorite lesbian anchor, Rachel Maddow, continues to light up the screen on her show…and everyone else’s. Last night she appeared on Jimmy Fallon and they had adorable banter about drinking and masculinity. Although they may have already been a little tipsy, as both kept spilling the vermouth.

Winks and Hunk’s first podcasting experiment: The ‘L Word’ finale’s interrogation intverviews

We all know the L Word ended, or rather didn’t, badly…and we are all dying to talk about it. Well aren’t we?

Is Mama Chaiken going to take over the world with L Word spin-offs? Is Helena saving herself for Winkle? Will we get a better microphone? And is incest really relevant to who killed Jenny?

Rep. Barney Frank breaks it down

Logo news interviews prominent and openly gay Congressman Barney Frank about the current major political issues facing the LGBTQ community today. He keeps his comments quick, simple to the point and, for the most part, fairly positive.

He identifies 3 major steps forward he believes Obama can accomplish in his first term:

1 – A trans inclusive ENDA (Employee Non-Discrimination Act)

2 – A trans inclusive hate crimes bill

3 – Repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

And while he was less sure about the timeline of a repeal of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) he thinks the fight is coming and it is worth it. Best yet, he blatantly and loudly calls Justice Antonin Scalia a homophobe. Go Barney! (I love you…You love me…)
