This summer the Independent Film Channel announced that it would be producing a sketch comedy show starring Saturday Night Live’s Fred Armisen and our own rock goddess Carrie Brownstein, called Portlandia. Now not only does it have an air date, but video clips to give us a sneak peek and Brownstein singing fantastically silly theme song. Premiering January 21st and continuing every Friday at 10:30/9:30 central, Portlandia introduces us to ourselves, our adbsurd, PDX selves. Each episode’s character-based shorts draw viewers into “Portlandia,” the creators’ dreamy campy rendering of the town we know and love. Well, at least I don’t come off as a pompous ass…oh wait… [display_podcast] […]   Lez-host Emily Gibson I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that I only discovered local online radio project PDX.FM after meeting resident lesbian Emily Gibson who, along with Sabrina Miller and Robert Wagner host Morning Submission (recently redubbed Morning Drunkmission). So, in honor of Pride weekend, and of getting even less sleep by being at a downtown studio at 8 in the morning, yours truly, plus the lovely British/German accented Perry Winkle will be on the show around 9ish. I’m really hoping they’ll have one of their infamous drink tastings, seeing as surely I won’t have had enough the night before, nor will I have any the rest of the weekend. This week I made an appearance on Michael Scott‘s OURview on OUTview online radio program. We talk about Constance McMillen, Huckabee‘s Rant, a possible lesbian on the Supreme court and the new singledom of Melissa Etheridge. But what I think is especially funny? While you listen to the audio the picture of me that you see scrolling past is actually from 1996. I was 15. Truthfully, I don’t look terribly different, but it was a shocker to see that picture again.
