It's Portland Gay Pride - Parade Time!
We’re nearing the end now folks! But there are still a few opportunities to get down and dirty and maybe even shake your tailfeather…
Sunday is of course the day of the Pride Parade, which starts *around* 11:15 – Sunday corner of Broadway and Davis and goes down to the waterfront/Tom McCall Park. Watch for float no #94, that’s us, yours truly! And we have some amazing, stunning news for you- the elusive SuperGay has contacted us via a sekrit communication channel and announced that they will be supporting us by being part of our Pride Float!! We’re super excited for SuperGay – I, Perry, have to go see a man about a dog on Sunday, so I’m very glad SuperGay will sup-port us, geddit? OK, enough puns, y’all know the parade and afterparty at the park are the highlights of Sunday…stay hydrated!

Stark Street Block Party for Portland Pride 2008
Silverado
is hosting a Beer Bust from 3-9 pm. We’re not sure about what this entails, and the Silverado website isn’t being too helpful, but it’s Silverado, and it’s a beer bust, so shirtless guys will sirely abound!
But the big one is surely the Stark Street Block Party, With Scandals and Red Cap/Boxxes joining forces to truly bring the gay masses to Stark Street. Alley wrote for JO: “Taking Pride on Stark Street” and Red Cap’s Fifth Annual Block Party take place Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, beginning in the afternoon and continuing late in the Stark Street triangle near 12th and Stark in downtown Portland. Scandals has a $5 cover on Saturday, $3 Sunday, Red Cap’s is $5. Visit scandalspdx.com and redcapgarage.com.
CC’s is also hosting an After Parade Party and somehow combining it with a CD release party for the Blackeyed Peas and The Sounds. Sounds fun and eclectic! 200 NW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97209
Crush
is also hosting Gay Trivia at 7pm, so if you’re looking for a smaller, friendlier way to finish up your Pride weekend, this is a good place to go, relax, kick back and play some trivia!
The E Room
Apparently never sleeps, because they are serving up an After Pride “It’s not over til I say it’s over” party with Karaeoke from 9pm, and body painting contests. Paint and brushes provided, bodies assumably not. No cover.
Latin Dance Party
A Special Event for Gay Pride
4:00pm – 10:00pm at Alberta Lofts – Noelani Rodriguez’ home, 1617 NE Alberta St. #19
Come to a fun house party for those want to meet new women and shake a tailfeather to Latin and Disco Music on Gay Pride Weekend / Sunday. We’re grateful to LWD Member Graciela Alca’s for her popular Latin Dance parties that so many people really enjoy.
This one will be co-hosted at Lani’s place at Alberta Lofts which should be fine for dancing, also chilling with old and new friends at the open bar, and checking out the sunset from the view deck.
There will be Summer Sangria and Spanish treats to eat. Special Guest DJs will provide dance music including Melissa Burke. There is a nice sound system, 2 floors, and I will set up a spa atmosphere upstairs with a massage table on the patio.
At 7p we can give Latin Dance mini-lessons or people might not be worried about it, they weren’t before. You can just do the two step. With a shimmy 😉
