Say Yes to a weekend of Shorty Shorts film, a Playboy Club, Peep Show’s Turkey Day and some Sordid Confessions

Carla Rossi hosts the Thanksgiving edition of Peep Show this Friday

Thursday

Lucinda Williams – Singer songwriter loved by the lesbos takes the stage at the Crystal Ballroom.

Friday

Del ShoresSordid Confessions – Del tries to make up for standing us up last time he was in town. The creator of the cult favorite TV series Sordid Lives (starring Olivia Newton-John, Rue McClanahan, Leslie Jordan and Caroline Rhea) is touring his hilarious new standup show. Raunchy, gay and not for the feint of heart, this seems like a delightfully small venue to catch the outrageous one man show.

Peep Show Thanksgiving with Carla Rossi – Little Tommy may be on vacay but there is no lack of talent in this Turkey day celebration of drag and performance. Hosted by wino Carla Rossi you’ll get to see favorites such as Fannie Mae Darling, Georgia Ray Babycakes and Melody Awesomazing while being introduced to some newcomers with fabulous names like Dionysus, ShpongledHoops and Austin Tatious. (Dammit why did I think of that drag name? I ever have an Austin necklace) Also, make sure you fight the tryptophan and wine induced coma to dance afterword with some of your favorite DJs.

Saturday

Shorty Shorts film fest – Fannie Mae and Gula Delgatto are quite the combination to lead a new festival showcasing short, edgy film. The flicks are meant to make you squirm while playing well with our media-addled attention spans. Plus there will be performance, cute bums peeking out of short shorts, a red carpet filled with raunchy drag queens in cheetah print and black ties and plenty of opportunity to laugh and be offended by some innovative screen debuts. Stay tuned for an interview with the SS crew that will be published tomorrow.

Candy Shop – Monthly party at Red Cap that leans toward the sticky sweet and always features a lollipop suck-off contest. Need I say more?

Slaughters Playboy Club – Serve it up sleazy, 70s or just plain bunny style in this sexy, swanky pin-up convention.

Gaycation! – You know it. You love it. Special guest Miss Pop from SF. Cali love.

Retrograde with the Sisters – The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence return with another great throwback. Freddie Mercury and Queen all night long plus I can’t wait to see what Mercury-inspired cocktails might mean. But I’m sure they’ll rock you.

YES – Why say no when you can say yes to a brand new queer night at the just right sized Saratoga in North Portland. Great neighborhood lineup of one lady, one dude, and one awesome straight…who also just happens to be this week’s DJ Profile.

Sunday

Be sure to check out various Transgender Day of Remembrance events including the Sisters’ Mass of Healing, the Q Center Art exhibit Body of Work, and PSU’s day full of workshops.

Monday

The weekend may be over but I think it’s worth mentioning that it’s time to get your sexy on with Sophia St James’ Totally F***ed, a workshop dedicated to strap ons. Even includes a personal fitting!
