Preludes to Pride at the Record Room – Wanna start off slow for a big climax? Lounge it out at the Record Room (8 NE Killingsworth) with DJ Shoshana spinning Charo to Chicks on Speed, T-Rex to XX, Little Milton to Biggie Smalls amongst real, actual records that you can peruse, and a beer and wine bar.
Queerlandia! – Remember, we’re not just gay, we’re Portlanders too, which means we’re a little offbeat and super awesome. It also means we like to combine our FREE club nights and killer DJs with performances (in this case ChiChi and Chonga, Devan McGrath, electro hip hopper Baby Puppy Sailor Suit and more) and arts and crafts from the likes of Field Work Objects and Jewelry, Becca (underwear), Greg LeMieux (DIY bliss objects). And, of course, gay Feng Shui with Rob Loucks.
Portland Black Pride karaoke and dance party – Keep it in the hood with POC singin’ and dancin’ at everyone’s favorite neighborhood Cheers-like spot for the gays, Local Lounge (3536 NE MLK). For the youth catch the karaoke at SMYRC.
7th annual Pride Block Party – The Stark Street triangle starts celebrating their BurleQ themed tent party with an hairdo inspired Portland Idol. Prizes for the best updos and remember, the higher the hair the closer to god.
Curiously Strong Comedy NW Pride edition – An official Pride NW event, CSC features some of the best gay and lesbian comics in the nation. Hosted by local Belinda Carroll you can also catch the stand up stylings of Jackie Monahan, 2008 winner for Time Out New York’s Joke of the Year, and Gloria Bigalow, a comedienne in Laughing Matters…Next Gen, the fourth film in the award-winning Laughing Matters series. Both have also appeared on the “One Night Stand Up” special for LOGO.
