Bent with special guests – Lifepartner will be at the decks along with Seattle superstar LA Kendall who rocks not just the dance floor but the business end, booking successful parties and performers alike. She’s also a producer/performer in her own right as one half of electro-pop-raptresses Luxury A.K. Bent is always a good time but this one will be a night to remember (or, perhaps, forget…).
Cock Block with DJ Sappho – The dearth of good house/techno is pretty apparent in Portland in general. But finding a queer night is night impossible. Enter DJ Sappho. Girl’s been trying to bring these elements together for ages now and I think she may have a hit in the female fronted Cock Block, along with fellow DJs The Perfect Cyn, Anna Langley and Miss Vixen. At least that’s my hope.
Bearracuda 2 year anniversary – Bears aren’t new in the great Pacific NW but their popular appeal is. But it’s been two years now since Bearracuda invaded our town and brought hipsterdom to the hairy forest. Now they’re in 18 cities and you can’t navigate the queer world without hearing their roar. This is gonna be a happy birthday…

In Other Words lending library Grand opening – IOW is one of the country’s last remaining feminist bookstores and they’re still here for us, struggling as they may be. But this is a day of excitement as the bookstore also becomes a library. Besides signing up to check books out you’ll also have a day of fun including raffles, zine and art work shops, tarot, kids’ activities and some bike maintenance. Because what would any dyke store be without bike mechanics?
