Casting call for aspiring gay actors

Scott Braucht is casting for gay short and, unlike major Hollywood studios, would actually like real lesbians and gays to try out for the parts!

Auditions will be held on Sunday, April 18. Please contact me if this won’t work for you, but you are still interested in auditioning. Hopefully we can set up an alternative time.

Director: Scott Braucht, Cinematographer: Allison Johnson

This is a narrative story of a young woman dealing with grief.

Project will be a 12min short, shot on digital, 16mm and Hi-8

Casting is for 2 leads:

Mel (mid-late 20’s)
She is dealing with the loss of her partner Kate, socially awkward and disconnected with the world. She is obsessed with watching home videos of her and Kate. She works night as a busser and is introduced to Thom in her building.  Both being on the same schedule, she later befriends him.

Thom (mid-late 20’s)
Works nightshift at the hospital, just recently broke up with his boyfriend to move to Portland from the midwest.  Very like-able guy that sees something familiar in Mel that makes him want to be friends with her.

This is a “no-budget” film production, so NO monetary compensation can be offered, but actors will be well fed, get the experience of a small, but “professional”, production set and of course receive a copy of their work for their reel.

This project will be filmed early-mid May.  5 day shoot. 2-3 rehearsals

Please be prepared to bring resume with photo, and monologue to present. Auditions will be videotaped.

They will be held:

Location: NWFilm Center 934 SW Salmon St, Portland, Oregon
Date: Sunday, April 18th
Time: 12:00-4:00

Feel free to schedule an appointment or come at the date time above
