Every time we think this horrific saga might just end, there’s another wonderful wrinkle. Local station KGW aired an interview with Breedlove wherein the young man expresses anger over more of Sam Adams lying and evasion.
When Attorney General John Kroger’s report came out last week clearing Adams of any criminal wrongdoing and claiming that Breedlove was not a credible source, Beau wanted to say his piece.
“My best recollection is a security guard walked in right when we were finished. It was one of those situations when you panic because you know you’ve been caught.”
Breedlove says he was convinced Mayor Adams would come clean, but was disappointed.
“It really upsets me. It’s just lie after lie after lie until we’re at the end of the bowl and the last person to be burned from the situation is me.”
So far only Willamette Week has received any reponse from the Mayor’s office:
Mayoral spokesman Roy Kaufmann emailed a statement to WW that refers to the conclusions from Kroger’s report but does not respond directly to Breedlove’s comments about that report and the mayor. Here is the email from Kaufmann:

To answer your question, the Attorney General conducted an exhaustive five and a half month long investigation, interviewed nearly 60 people, reviewed thousands of phone calls and documents, and released a report clearing the mayor of any wrong-doing. The mayor appreciates the thoroughness of the investigation, and will continue to work tirelessly to make amends and deliver results for the city.

Beau was dragged into this…. really — he was just a kid. (ever meet an 18 year old??) i can understand his desire to defend himself. he isn't the problem!
