The queer blogging community

Firstly, I’m going to go completely against what I claimed in today’s Just Out article on local queer bloggers and make this a fairly personal post. Firstly, hey, I’m in it, and I guess that’s personal enough.

This is just a dumb messing around with my cell phone pic that I took last week and I much prefer it…

But more importantly, and I’m going to get all stereotypically girly/PMS-ey on you all…I hate my picture. It was cold. It was a 5 minute shoot that I had to do last minute during my vacation. I do have round red cheeks, but not that bad. I know I’m being a whiny drama queen but it’s just that kind of day.

After staying out much later than I wanted to last night my mood this morning is beyond cranky. I think I’m going to stick to my rule from now on that I take my own pictures. Comments telling me that in real life I am adorable will go far with me today.

On the other hand, at least I didn’t sound like a total idiot. I could’ve had more substance to my answers but, hey, I guess I save that for this blog here…

(Oh yeah, and just to make myself feel a little better, I underestimated my readership. At the time I told Julie that the blog gets about 100 unique users a day but I’ve been over 250 most days and over 300 many out of the past couple months…Ok, I think I might be able to deal with some ruddy cheeks now…)

That picture in Just Out is simply bad photography. If that’s the best shot they got, even in five minutes, the photog might consider pursuing another career. And what’s up with the Rib Pit sign in the background?

Your cell phone picture is infinitely better. That either says something great about your cell phone picture taking skillz or something very bad about the Just Out photographer. Anytime you can make someone who’s cute look not cute, you’ve done a disservice to mankind.

Oh Rock, thank you. You are always so nice to me. It’s gonna maker your girlfriend jealous.

But yeah, all my friends thought the “Rib Pit” thing was ridiculous too. Now I can’t be caught at a BBQ shack for months…
