Sunday, sunday, sunday

Competing benefits even? Two groups of youngsters need your help on Sunday, so if you’re not feeling the Rock’n’roll Camp for Girls’ show at Holocene (see below) then get your dance and your drink on at the newly expanded Crush (1400 SE Morrison) for “Double Your Pleasure” with Flava Kelly and DJ Anjali. This one’s a benefit for SMYRC (The Sexual Minority Youth Recreation Center). Doors are at 8p with a $5 to whatever-you-got suggested donation. (Hey it’s for the q kiddies so pony up).

Snatch, the monthly “hot homo dance party,” on the other hand, may not be a benefit per se but who says the selfish can’t have a good time? Beisdes, you don’t want to miss Show Me the Pink’s last show in a long long time would you? Live dance music can be tough to come by and the idea that these hometown homos are hanging up their hats for awhile saddens me deeply.

Also playing is an all-trans band from SF, Lipstick Conspiracy, and OlyWa’s romanteek, a band with a lead singer who can belt it out like nobody’s bid-ness. DJs Hot Pants and Snow Tiger will continue the beats. Snatch is at it’s usual haunt, the swanky Doug Fir (830 E Burnside) (but oh in the basement baby). Doors at 8, $5.

oh yeah and one more thing. There may be too many events to stay in Sunday night but don’t forget to set your TIVO’s (unless it already knows you’re gay) to record Queer as Folk’s season premier. Or for better social interaction, wait for Monday and head down to Slaughter’s for a group screening.
