Portland State’s women’s basketball program is about to make a huge statement in support of lgbtq athletes and coaches. This Saturday, their home game against Nevada is doubling as Pride Night, an event in honor of openly gay coach Sherri Murrell.
In addition to celebrating Murrell, the event will feature several queer rights and support groups. NCAA basketball is notoriously homophobic, so PSU putting on this event is an incredible step in the right direction. The nitty gritty: December 3rd, 2 pm, at the Stott Center (SW 10th and Hall).
