What to expect for Portland Pride 2011, including real-time Twitter updates

Hot damn, Pride Season always comes up so damn fast, even before the sunshine in this town. Here at qPDX we’re seldom “prepared” but we were born “ready” and we’ve got a whole lot of good stuff to keep you on your toes all weekend long.

Firstly, everything Pride related can be found at Pride Central 2011, from schedules to photos to reviews. And if you think we’re missing anything let us know. We aim to be comprehensive people. This is our moment. Guides to the events of each day, starting with Thursday, will be published 2 days ahead so you can plan accordingly.

Secondly, while qPDX will be out and about all weekend long, there’s only so many places we can be at once. So we want you to report for us. Tell us what’s cool, tell us what clubs are having the best parties and which ones suck, what lines are long and what bartenders are the hottest with the heaviest pouring hand. You might even want to share a picture of you and your crew gettin’ wild for all the PDX queers to see. The best way to do so will be our constantly updated Twitter feed.

We’ll be placing the qPDX real-time updates, including @qpdx tweets from you, at the top of the site for the duration of Pride weekend. We’ll be doing our best to let you all know what’s goin’ down in 140 characters or less so that you can know the best spots to be right from your phone or computer.

In fact, I can think of all kinds of great uses for this interactive feature. Forget a missed connection, Tweet a message to that cute guy or girl and they might see it before you’ve even left the bar. Score!

There’s even still time to get involved. Want to march with us? Pass out stickers and flyers? You’ll be on our much-loved list, and I can’t even begin to tell you what kind of fringe benefits come with that…
