Disko Warp kicks off Kumoricon at Ground Kontrol

How did I not know about the queer contingent of Kumoricon, Oregon’s largest anime convention?

Anime may not be my most watched television or read comics but I am geeky like that, so thank you Ryan Prado at Just Out for clue-ing me in to tonight’s opening celebration at Ground Kontrol (511 NW Couch) for the gays put on by Disko Warp Records.

That party also doubles as a record release for CD release party for Anime Love Hardcore, a new album full of high-energy remixes of the best anime theme songs, produced by Portland’s happy hardcore superstar Initial P! The album features themes from shows like Rurouni Kenshin, Evangelion, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Lupin the 3rd, and Gurren Laggan and more!

I’ll whip you at DDR fools. Just challenge me.*

*Note this is totally not true. While I can dance, the coordination to high pitched Japanese singing is not something I can truly pwn. I am just trash-talkin’ cuz I’m supposed to right?
