So allegedly, gay celeb blogger/gossip queen Perez Hilton was assaulted by the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am. Will.I.Am denies any allegations – and so they have taken it to the streets internet to resolve this dispute…and what follows is a messy frolic of tweeting/not tweeting, timing, and the importance of not forgetting the special T word, traffic.
It seems that Perez was blogging from his hotel room in Toronto, and asked via twitter if anyone knew of a safe gay bar in the local area where he could hang with Lady GaGa (whose pokerface i kinda adore right now, it must be said), but a couple of hours later he started tweeting about being assaulted by Will.I.Am and his security guards, and that he was bleeding, and needed the police to come to his hotel. A short while later, he tweeted to inform people to stop calling the police, who arrived on the scene. This morning, he posted a 12 minute video, on his website, claiming that Will.I.Am was a “disgusting human being for lying”, after Will.I.Am posted a video denying involvement in the crime. While I have not seen Will.I.Am’s video, I have seen Perez Hilton’s, and it is exactly what you would expect from a gossipy drama queen.
Since then, the police have cleared Will.I.Am from all accusations, but the Black Eyed Peas Manager is being investigated. Perez Hilton has not commented on this development.
So what’s the story? If Perez can tweet, why can’t he call the police? If 200 people called (I’m not saying that they did, I’m just speaking hypothetically) the police in response to Perez’ tweet, isn’t that “abuse of police phone lines” or something? Why did Perez take this to the internet? What about Will.I.Am? What about the video comments-publicly stating someone is “a disgusting human being” and other insults is pretty heavy, especially when they get cleared by the police.Celebrity DeathMatch?
I think it all boils down to one thing – regardless of whether Perez was assaulted or not (which no one should be – violence is not a valid response). I’m just talking about how Perez is handling this situation. The answer is in that final little T word – traffic!
i do not support violence at all, but if Perez had to be hit, couldn't they have done it to his mouth to shut him up for a while? i am so embarrassed he has become some kind of spokesperson for our gay community

Apparently, Perez called Willwhatever a faggot right before the blows. WTF? I don't get that at any post-modern level.
the link above is from a huff post blogger Mark Blankenship, who just comments on the ridiculousness of the whole situation. also everyone is now saying Perez supposedly threw some gay slurs at Will I Am before the fight.
From AP story…
Hilton, who is openly gay, said in an interview with The Associated Press that he called will.i.am a “faggot” inside the club after the musician told the blogger not to write about his band on his Web site.
“He was like ‘You need to respect me.’ He was in my face. He was obviously trying to intimidate me and scare me,” Hilton said. “I was like ‘I don’t need to respect you. I don’t respect you and I did say this, and I knew that it would be the worst thing I could possibly say to him because he was acting the way he was. I said ‘You know what, I don’t respect you and you’re gay and stop being such a faggot.”’
UGH. I have not liked Perez from the moment I saw his site. This is absolutely redonk. For him to pull this crap (because srsly, if he could tweet, he could call the cops. end of story) is just over the top.
I don't condone violence at all, and people who are saying "Good, he deserved it" are wrong on so many levels. Granted he's an annoying twat, and is making a bad case for liking "the gays", but nobody deserves to be assaulted in any manner.
I thought the Sam Adams post would get the most attention today…there I go thinkin'…
