So, once again, two popular queer nights at Holocene (1001 SE Morrison) and Rotture (315 SE 3rd Ave) are duking it out for the Queen of the Evening. And while I love a good theme, and Sluts and Squares is a quite diverse and creativity-inspiring a title for a recurring night DoubleDown is just a solidly danceable, crowd-pleasing nightspot. Can we start alternating Saturdays folks, pretty please?
Oh yeah, and there’s also an Invitational Bicycle Bash! being thrown by the Sprockettes which is not blatantly queer but an all-girl dance bike troupe? There’s definitely some queer shenanigans goin’ on…
Music, DJ Gray, art gallery, silent auction, raffle, and of course…performances by your favorite bicycle dance troupes. Food and drink will be available for sale with “Sprockettes specials”. Doors open at 8pm. Entertainment starts at 9pm. Party until 2:30am (606 SE Madison).
