Get your mind out of the gutter. The Swallows are an adorable little 2 piece indie outfit that play tonight at Rotture (315 SE 3rd) at 9p with guests The Foxgloves & Pallaton.
The fantastically stylish male/female combo are likely to be playing songs from their new EP from Church of Girl Records, Cloud Machines. While very reminiscent of 90s Northwest girl rock the Swallows manage to infuse the “Language is Restless” with an ethereal post-millenium feel while allowing songs like “Anchors” to hold down a Puddletown tradition that manages to still feel energizing. The Swallows aren’t terribly innovative but they are terribly cute in their “let’s Get Physical cover” outfits as well as being talented musicians. With a decent collection of free downloads available this hometown band is certainly worth a listen.
