Thomas Drekker plays Zach on ‘Heroes.’And, actually, it doesn’t anymore. But that’s not the fault of the show’s creators. I’d always gotten a queer sensibility from the show but it turns out that Claire’s non-popular buddy was supposed to be gay from the very start. Apparently early episodes only alluded to it but the writers planned to make it more clear instead he seems to have disappeared from the show entirely. Apparently his managers thought it would be SAG suicide for the yougun to play gay. I have to echo the sentiment…have you ever heard of a couple of cowpoke Oscar contenders?…That said, I wouldn’t mind a queer character that was actually a hero. My god can you imagine just how hot Ali Larter would be if she was getting it on with one of HRG’s paper factory minions?
