‘Save Me’In yet another film where a parent must grapple with a child’s gender non-conformity the 7 pm feature Ready? OK! details the experiences of a single mom raising a son enthralled by dresses, dolls and cheerleading. Her prodigal brother returns turn (the creepy Michael Emerson or Ben Linus from Lost) and hilarity ensues.
But the laughter is fairly short lived as we jump into Save Me at 9 pm. Mark, a gay man addicted to sex and drugs (no word on rock’n’roll) checks into Christians cure gays camp in the desert. As he begins to heal, he bonds with fellow inpatients in such a way that compels both him and his guidance counselors to reevaluate their beliefs.
