This Saturday at noon a coalition of SF GLBTQ organizations and action groups who believe that all the letters in the alphabet soup are equally important will be handing out rainbow stickers to replace the ubiquitous HRC dual tone images that currently adorn so many bumpers.
The HRC has been a traditionally mainstream organization from its incarnation, and it has garnered enough criticism for that alone. However, outright protesting of the HRC by queers started when HRC supported a revised ENDA without the same protections for trans people as for gay people.
We’re all in this together. Should Portland support our protesting siblings to the south with a similar show of rainbow love? Or maybe we should put bear and S&M flags over the HRC stickers instead…
