Gossip song on ‘American Idol’

I don’t watch much reality TV and ‘Idol’ is about the absolute last one I’d bother with, so I don’t know any of the context surrounding the video below. It appears that a contestant took on Beth Ditto’s “Standing in the Way of Control” which is probably my most favorite Gossip song. This blondie doesn’t really do it justice, but I’m happy to see the band get exposure nonetheless.
