Today Milk, the film starring Sean Penn (and an amazing supporting cast) and directed by local, gay filmmaker Gus Van Sant was nominated for a whopping 8 Oscars.
The biggest nods for the film were Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. The other 3 nods include Costume Design, Film Editing, and Music Score.
