‘Brand Upon the Brain’

Perhaps the trauma of the opening night film made me loathe to go through what was sure to be large amounts of craziness to watch Saturday’s silent film performance extravaganza Brand Upon the Brain. Despite that I wasn’t “…tricked into watching a silent film…” as producer Jamie Hook proclaimed at the beginning of the performance, I think I really missed out. So I turned to a review from The Oregonian myself to catch a glimpse into the wonderful insanity that I missed. (That’s right readers, in case you are confused, I’m not technically a part of The Oregonian. Ask me about it if you’re wondering about the complex and awkward sort of queer marriage we share). And for more campy silent flick fun visit Brand Upon the Brain’s own fantastically weird website.
